AWM03 Semiautomatic Spiral wound gasket machine for big sizes gaskets
The semi-automatic winding machine model “AWM03” is designed in order to manufacture spiral wound gaskets from 500 mm (from 300 mm with optional tools) to 4000 mm with or without inner ring.
AWM03 machine has features which allow you to produce high quality gaskets:
- control system able to control in Automatic the main parameters of the gaskets: gasket size, number of steel revolution at the beginning of the gasket, nr of welding spot, distance of the welding spots… The machine is equipped with a touch screen operator panel that allow the operator to set all necessary parameters.
- pressure control on the pressure wheel to keep the strength applied on the gasket constant;
- motor on the profiling rollers to control the steel tension during the winding;
- filler break or finishing control device that stops the machine on time to load the new filler strip without leaving any gap inside the gasket;
- winding speed control;
- electronic welder with the possibility to store different welding programs (easily programmable by the operator);
- automatic welding device.
- Grinding device to prepare inner (V-shape) or outer (V-groove) rings
The operational simplicity of this machine avoids the use of skilled personnel. The machine allow the remote assistance by EXA technicians.

AWM07 Automatic Spiral wound gasket machine for gaskets from ½” to 30”
The automatic winding machine model “AWM07” is designed in order to manufacture spiral wound gaskets from ½” to 30” with and without inner ring.
Being an automatic machine, the operator’s intervention is only required for simple operations such as inserting the inner ring when necessary and feeding the machine with both steel and filler and cutting the same when the machine has reached the desired diameter and has stopped automatically.
All the parameters related to the gasket manufacturing are programmable and controlled by the machine such as the tension of the steel strip, the pressure applied to compact the gasket, the winding speed, the number, position and power of the welding spots, the starting and ending point of the graphite and steel, the number of revolutions and the diameters of the finished product. In this way the operator cannot affect the finished product quality.
The machine allow the remote assistance by EXA technicians.

AWM 08/S Semiautomatic Spiral wound gasket machine for gaskets from ½” to 30”
The semiautomatic winding machine model “AWM08/S” is designed in order to manufacture spiral wound gaskets from ½” to 30” with and without inner ring.
Following the main features of EXA semiautomatic machine for spiral wound gaskets:
- control system able to control in Automatic the main parameters of the gaskets: gasket size, number of steel revolution at the beginning of the gasket, nr of welding spot, distance of the welding spots… The machine is equipped with a touchscreen operator panel that allow the operator to set all necessary parameters.
- pressure control on pressure wheel to keep constant the strength applied on the gasket;
- motor on the forming wheels to control the steel tension during the winding;
- winding speed control;
- electronic welder with possibility to switch, during the production, between different welding programs that had been previously defined by the operator.
A precise pneumatic system for the pressure roller makes it possible to change the compactness of the gasket. The operational simplicity of this machine avoids the use of skilled personnel. The machine allow the remote assistance by EXA technicians.

The manual winding machine model “AWM08” is designed in order to manufacture spiral wound gaskets from ½” to 30” with and without without inner ring.
Differently from manual machines usually available on the market, EXA manual machine has some features which come from the semiautomatic:
- dimensional control device, to allow the operator to stop the winding at the right gasket size;
- pressure control on pressure wheel to keep constant the strength applied on the gasket;
- motor on the forming wheels to control the steel tension during the winding;
- winding speed control;
- electronic welder with possibility to switch, during the production, between different welding programs that had been previously defined by the operator.
